Do It Rather than Say It

do it

Few months ago, I had a scholarship program for our high school alma mater. Having the connection and list of my online schoolmates, I do the initiative to inform them and ask for their assistance and support. It is not my attitude to solicit, but for this noble cause, I swallow my pride and send email to them. Days later, I started to receive reply from them pledging their support, and I was very overwhelmed that time. Then came the deadline I set for them to send the funds they pledged. I tried to send reminders thru email, but now I didn’t get any reply. For whatever reason, I guess they became not interested anymore.

We people are driven by emotions. At times that our emotions are high, it hinders our mind to think of the best thing to do. We tend commit or promise to someone instantly. But after that emotion subsides and our mind reminded us on the action that we are going to do, everything will be back to normal. So as our real self coming back to who we really are.

Same thing happen when people didn’t get anything from the government for example. They will voice out their concern and hoping that in the end, the big government will help little one’s like them. But for most cases, they will be left unheard.

I am a man of action and not of words. I speak a little but do a lot, especially on times that I knew I am the most capable of doing it. Believing in myself and having a CAN DO attitude propels me to do the things I wanted.

In order to help others, we need to do something not say something. The words you will say will only matter to them on that instant after you say it, but the things you will do will remains in their memory forever. So the next time you say I CAN or I WILL, think again if you are sincere with it. You may end up ruining your reputation.

Success needs people who can do the impossible and hard things thru action. If you can’t do it, don’t ever say it.
